Matte Acrylic Kitchen offers a simple yet strong material approach that highlights surface quality in modern kitchen design. In this project, the main character of the design is determined not by the plan scheme but by the acrylic surface technology used. The texture of the surface, its relationship with light, and its usage performance directly shape the atmosphere of the kitchen.
What is Acrylic? – Surface Technology
Acrylic cabinet doors are special surface coatings applied on MDF panels that provide high gloss or matte finishes.
- Creates a smooth and homogeneous surface
- Provides high color depth
- Offers a modern and contemporary appearance
- Has high UV resistance and color stability
Acrylic is a strong material preferred as an alternative to lacquer, especially in terms of surface clarity and production standardization.
Glossy Acrylic Option
Glossy acrylic surfaces:
- Reflect light at a high level
- Make the space appear larger and brighter
- Create a glass-like depth effect
- Produce a modern and dynamic aesthetic
Especially in small-volume kitchens or spaces where natural light is limited, glossy acrylic provides the advantage of enlarging spatial perception.
Matte Acrylic Option
Matte acrylic surfaces:
- Do not reflect light, absorb and soften it
- Create a calmer and more sophisticated atmosphere
- Fingerprint and stain visibility is lower compared to glossy surfaces
- Offer a minimal and timeless character
Matte acrylic has recently been preferred especially in modern residential projects, offering a softer and more premium surface feel.
Cabinet Body and Technical Structure
MDFLAM or durable chipboard systems are generally used in cabinet bodies.
- The body system provides structural stability and long-lasting use
- Color and texture harmony between acrylic cabinet doors and the body system is considered
Countertop Compatibility
Acrylic surfaces are generally combined with:
- Quartz countertops
- Porcelain surfaces
- Or technical materials such as compact laminate
While high-contrast countertops create a strong modern effect with glossy acrylic, natural stone-look surfaces create a more sophisticated composition with matte acrylic.
