Form – Plan – Material – System – Living Scenario
White Kitchen is a modern and minimalist living space shaped around an island configuration within an open American kitchen plan. The design is a holistic system built on lacquer surface aesthetics, MDFLAM body durability, and porcelain countertop performance.
Plan Configuration
Open American + Island Kitchen
This project has an open American plan approach that integrates the kitchen with the living room.
This approach:
- Provides spatial continuity
- Increases social interaction
- Maximizes light distribution
The island unit positioned at the center is both a functional and social hub.
The island functions as:
- Additional preparation area
- Serving surface
- Seating area for daily use
- Storage volume
In an open plan, the island defines the boundaries of the kitchen and organizes spatial layout.
Form Language
Minimal – Continuous – Clear
- Handleless or concealed-handle flat cabinet surfaces
- Continuous horizontal lines
- Glossy and homogeneous facade composition
Thanks to white lacquer surfaces, the space is perceived as visually simple and organized. A facade language free from clutter is especially important in open-plan kitchens because the kitchen is now part of the living room.
Material Strategy
🔹 Lacquer Cabinet
Lacquer paint application:
- Provides a smooth surface
- Reflects light and enlarges the space
- Creates a modern and clean aesthetic
- Offers production in accordance with the RAL catalogue
White lacquer is one of the strongest surface choices that support spaciousness in open American kitchens.
🔹 Cabinet Body: MDFLAM
MDFLAM is preferred for the cabinet interior and body system.
MDFLAM:
- High surface durability
- Resistance to moisture and deformation
- Easy-to-clean interior surface
- Long-lasting structural system
While lacquer cabinet doors create the exterior aesthetic, MDFLAM forms the technical and structural backbone of the system.
🔹 Porcelain Countertop
Use of porcelain on the island and main countertop surfaces:
- High heat resistance
- Scratch resistance
- Stain-resistant structure
- Thin and elegant profile
The porcelain countertop creates a modern contrast with lacquer surfaces and provides a strong solution in both aesthetics and performance in an open-plan kitchen.
Spatial Effect
White lacquer surface + porcelain countertop + open-plan configuration =
- Maximum light reflection
- Perception of large volume
- Clean and organized appearance
- Timeless aesthetics
In open American kitchens, surface quality is critical. The materials selected in this project maintain visual quality in areas where the kitchen integrates with the living space.
Ergonomics and Usage Scenario
- Built-in appliances are integrated
- Storage systems are distributed in a balanced way between island and wall units
- Work triangle (cooktop–sink–refrigerator) is ergonomically planned
- Preparation, serving, and social use are provided through the island
This kitchen is not only a food production area; it is the social center of the home.
