Design Decisions That Transform the Space

Bungalow / Tekirdag is a unique residential concept within Arkethane’s “project services” category. This project aims to demonstrate how small-scale living units can be made livable with an architectural language that is harmonious with nature, aesthetic, and functional. The bungalow design is constructed as a comfortable and inviting interpretation of a minimalist lifestyle.

The bungalow-type living space establishes a strong balance between modern architecture and the natural environment. Simple lines, clean volumes, and material selections suitable for local climate conditions transform the space into a comfortable living environment. The core character of this design is its ability to create a seamless connection between interior and exterior; the relationship between the form of the bungalow and its surroundings enables the space to offer an experience integrated with nature.

Relationship with Nature and Sensory Experience

In the project, the relationship that the bungalow structure establishes with its surroundings forms the main backbone of the design. The building is positioned in respect to the rhythm of nature; analyses of surrounding vegetation, sun orientation, wind, and topography determine the design decisions. This approach allows the space to integrate with nature both visually and experientially.

Form and Material Interaction

The bungalow design emphasizes the simplicity of form and the texture of materials. Wooden or natural-looking exterior surfaces are balanced with concrete or smooth surfaces to create a calm yet strong architectural expression. Transitions between materials are carefully planned; thus, the structure establishes a dialogue both with its environment and with its users.

Functional Space Organization

In the planning of Bungalow 1, the placement of living areas is based on a fluid and intuitive organization. This maximizes user comfort while allowing adaptation to different living rhythms without disrupting the compact structure of the interior. Work, rest, and social areas are clearly defined while remaining visually and physically connected.

Atmosphere and Use of Light

The entry of natural light into the space plays an important role in bungalow design. Large windows and carefully planned openings enrich the interior while allowing natural light to travel rhythmically throughout the living space. This approach turns local climate conditions into an advantage and keeps the space energetic yet calm throughout the day.

Experiential Dimension of the Design

The Bungalow / Tekirdag project goes beyond architectural form; it also offers the user an emotional spatial experience. Harmony with nature, material texture, spatial flow, and the use of light come together to create a calm and relaxing atmosphere. This atmosphere creates an ideal escape for those who want to move away from the complexity of urban life.

Brick Facade Building / Lethbridge - CAN

In this facade design, the timeless character of brick is reinterpreted through a contemporary architectural approach. The rhythmic arrangement of brick surfaces creates depth and movement, while its natural texture adds warmth and a strong visual identity. Surface articulations and detailed elements enhance shadow play, allowing the facade to achieve a dynamic appearance that evolves throughout the day. Material continuity and a clean geometric language transform the facade into both an aesthetic and durable architectural envelope.
